There is a guest teacher here today.  I expect a good report.
During fourth period, you will finish your "Renaissance and Reformation in Five Items" slideshow.  Please refer to the directions and make certain you have included all of the information about each of your slides:
The Renaissance and Reformation in Five Items

Using Google Arts and Culture, pick five items that represent the Renaissance and Reformation.  Pick at least one item that is medieval European, one Italian Renaissance, and one that represents the Northern Renaissance.
Medieval = 300 AD -- 1399 AD (Europe)
Italian Renaissance = 1400 AD -- 1600 AD (Italy)
Northern Renaissance = 1400 AD -- 1600 AD (Europe, but not Italy)
You will create a presentation on Google Slides to present these five works of art.

To do so, go to Google Arts and Culture.

Go to ≡(three bars) Art Movements- Renaissance

Find items

Make sure to read about them- you have to understand each item, who painted it, when and where (approximate) it was made, what it depicts, the medium (painting, sculpture, etc),  and how it relates to larger themes. Also include where (name of Museum/ Collection) it can be found today.

Like the items by clicking on the heart in the upper right corner

Once you have clicked on a few, you can click on VIEW or under the main menu (≡) FAVORITES

In favorites, CREATE A NEW COLLECTION

Click the items you want, click NEXT (top right)
Give it a TITLE and DESCRIPTION

Create a Google Slides with your five works of art.
Each piece of art must have listed:

  • Artist
  • When and where it was made
  • Name of work
  • Subject matter
  • Medium
  • Which movement (Medieval, Italian Renaissance, or Northern Renaissance)?
  • How does it represent Medieval, Italian Renaissance, or Northern Renaissance?
  • Museum/Collection where is can be found today
During fifth period, you will watch the documentary "Engineering an Empire: Da Vinci's World" (link) and answer comprehension questions (link).
